We've spent decades in the technology industry, building software for companies around the globe.
We found ourselves at 2am deep in John Wojtowicz's research on Carbonate AlkalinityCarbonate AlkalinityThe portion of total alkalinity that actually affects water balance. In stabilized pools, subtract about a third of your CYA from total alkalinity to get this number. correction. For every calculator, every app, and every forum post, they approach chemistry the same way: fix your pH, then fix your alkalinity, then fix your calcium, then look at your water balance. One parameter at a time. One target at a time.
But it's one body of water. When you raise pH, it affects chlorine efficacy. When you add stabilizer, it changes your chlorine target. When temperature shifts, everything shifts. Treating these as separate problems guarantees conflicting advice.
That's why we built the Unity Framework. Six principles that treat your pool chemistry as one integrated system, where every recommendation is checked against everything else before you see it. No contradictions. No chasing one number while another drifts.
